ISO Exercise
ISO Exercise:
1. Locate the ISO settings on your camera. Consult your camera manual if you are not sure how to change the ISO.
- What is the lowest ISO your camera is capable of?
- What is the highest ISO?
2. With your camera in the program (P) mode take a photograph using the following ISO settings: 100, 400, 1600, and 3200. While you are taking the photographs pay attention to the aperture and shutter speed settings.
- What changes do you notice as the ISO is increased?
- Does the shutter speed become faster or slower?
- Does the aperture value change?
3. Review your images. Can you see a difference in the quality of the images? Look for noise in the shadow areas of the image. You may need to view these on your computer’s monitor to really see the differences.
